Andrew Bush 

Dr. Andrew Bush is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Bush did his doctoral work jointly with the Physics department at the University of Toronto (with Dick Peltier) and with the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado (with Jim McWilliams).

Dr. Bush is a Fellow in the Earth System Evolution Program of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Studies and is a co-PI on three major network grants: CFCAS's Polar Climate Stability Network, the CFCAS Western Canadian Cryospheric Network, and SSHRC's Major Collaborative Research Initiative on cultural and climatic change in the Lake Baikal region.

In addition to numerical climate modelling, Dr. Bush has completed field work that has taken him to the Baltoro glacier and K2 in Pakistan's Karakorum range and the Chota Shigri glacier in the Indian Himalaya.

He joined the University of Alberta as an Assistant Professor in 1997 after spending 2 years as a postdoc in the Department of Geosciences at Princeton University working with George Philander.

Andrew Bush est professeur au département des sciences de la Terre et de l'atmosphère de l'Université de l'Alberta.

Il a fait ses travaux de doctorat au département de physique de l'Université de Toronto (avec Dick Peltier) et au National Center for Atmospheric Research à Boulder, au Colorado (avec Jim McWilliams).

En 1997, M. Bush a été engagé comme professeur adjoint à l'Université de l'Alberta après avoir travaillé deux ans comme étudiant postdoctoral au département de géosciences de l'Université de Princeton avec George Philander. Il est membre du programme Évolution du système terrestre de l'Institut canadien de recherches avancées et cochercheur principal pour trois subventions à d'importants réseaux ou travaux de recherche : le réseau d'étude de la stabilité du climat polaire de la FCSCA, le réseau cryosphérique de l'Ouest canadien de la FCSCA et les grands travaux de recherche concertée du CRSH sur les changements culturels et climatiques dans la région du lac Baïkal.

Outre ses travaux de modélisation numérique du climat, Andrew Bush a fait des recherches sur le terrain au glacier du Baltoro et au K2 dans le massif du Karakoram au Pakistan ainsi qu'au glacier Chota Shigri dans l'Himalaya indien.
