A Senior Climatologist at Environment Canada, he is a skilled communicator who promotes awareness and understanding of our country's climate. Through the mass media, public appearances and educational tools, he focused public attention on two critical issues - severe weather and climate change. A recipient of the Patterson Medal for Distinguished Service to Meteorology in Canada, he is also a respected author who contributes to scientific and popular publications, notably as the author of the Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar.
